Build your bottom time

Congratulations on choosing the Bell Scuba Nitrox Course. When you dive with Nitrox extended bottom times become a reality, plus you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to use it. In fact diving with Nitrox is much simpler than most people think, but without proper training and practice Nitrox diving can be hazardous.This course teaches certified divers how to plan and make dives with Nitrox. Using useful tools like Nitrox tables, equivalent air depth tables, and oxygen exposure tables you’ll learn everything you need to know to dive safely with Nitrox.This course can be completed anytime in combination with another course or as a stand-alone course.

Student Pre-Requisites

Minimum age of 15 yrs and certification as Advanced Open Water (or an equivalent rating), or Open Water Diver (or equivalent) with proof of at least 10 dives logged beyond training dives.

Qualification

Upon successful completion of this course graduates will be able to safely plan and conduct no-decompression dives with Nitrox, containing 22% to 40% oxygen, with a maximum PO2 of 1.4 ata.

Open Water Dives

There are two Nitrox training dives required for certification.

Knowledge Development Module

The knowledge session will cover: the advantages and disadvantages of diving with Nitrox, equipment considerations, using the dive tables with Nitrox, managing oxygen exposure, using the Nitrox tales, special applications in Nitrox diving, diving emergencies and Nitrox, and use of formulae. The knowledge review must be completed prior to commencement of the course.

The cost Includes

SSI certification card, 2 Open Water dives, 1 Knowledge Development session, Nitrox fills, and Nitrox Knowledge Review Sheets.

Required Equipment

All personal diving equipment; mask, fins, snorkel, BCD, regulator, alternate air source, SPG, weight system, appropriate exposure protection, depth gauge, compass, timing device, a cutting device, whistle, and slate. (Hire of most equipment can be arranged at preferential rates).In addition you are also required to have: A dive table and a dedicated EANx cylinder with appropriate markings and decals. You may need to arrange to have your cylinder and valve oxygen cleaned prior to the course.
